What is REJURAN®?

REJURAN® is a sterile injectable gel containing sodium polynucleotide. It is placed into the dermis by an appropriately trained health practitioner.

Is REJURAN® the “salmon DNA” treatment?

You may see that phrase used online. A more accurate description is that REJURAN® contains highly purified sodium polynucleotide derived from salmon DNA. It is supplied as a sterile injectable gel for professional use.

What is the difference between REJURAN®, REJURAN® i and REJURAN® s?

REJURAN® is the versatile 2 mL option in the Australian range. REJURAN® i is a 1 mL product commonly selected for delicate facial areas, particularly around the eyes. REJURAN® s is used as a more targeted option where localised texture or the appearance of depressed/atrophic scars is a concern. The final product choice is clinical.

Can REJURAN® be used under the eyes?

Yes. The intended-purpose information for REJURAN® and REJURAN® i specifically includes use on the face, especially around the eyes and perioral area. Suitability still depends on your anatomy, skin and assessment.

Can REJURAN® treat acne scars?

REJURAN® s is commonly considered where the treatment plan is focused on the appearance of depressed or atrophic scars. Scar type matters, and some scars may be better suited to a different or combination approach. A consultation is needed before making a treatment recommendation.

Does REJURAN® add volume like a traditional filler?

REJURAN® is described as a dermal tissue reconstructive material. Its polynucleotide gel is hydrating and can cause local volumetric tissue increase, but treatment planning should focus on its accepted purpose — tissue restoration, reconstruction and improvement of physical appearance — rather than assuming it behaves like another injectable category.

How many sessions will I need?

There is no single schedule that is appropriate for every client. The number and timing of treatments should be based on assessment, response, treatment area, product instructions and clinical judgment. Your practitioner can discuss a proposed plan after consultation.

Is there downtime?

Visible injection points, small raised areas, redness, swelling, tenderness and bruising may occur. Some people are comfortable returning to usual activities quickly, while others prefer allowing more recovery time. Your practitioner will give you individual guidance.

Is it suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding?

No. Manufacturer instructions state that REJURAN®, REJURAN® i and REJURAN® s are not to be used in pregnant or lactating women.
